The new building is located in the core and heritage protection zone of Oberwil. It replaces an existing apartment building from the 1950s.

The building integrates itself into the local context as a simple, elongated volume with a gable roof. Its precise setting separates and defines at the same time two courtyard-like outdoor spaces with different characters. On the north side, the new building encloses the predominantly public space facing the Bruder Klaus church, while on the south side it forms the completion of the development courtyard of the existing residential complex Risihof.

The design of the new building is deliberately calm and coherent. A typical perforated façade with uniform window formats on all sides divides the mural structure equally. It is complemented by a filigree foliage theme in steel, which is presented on the two long sides to the plastered facades. The arcades serve as exterior areas of the flats.

The all-spanning gable roof is based on the eaves and ridge heights of the existing residential buildings Risihof. Three hatches on each side occupy the roof area in a striking but proportionate manner. They are hierarchically structured in different sizes depending on their orientation and corresponding function.

The new building volume comprises 2 standard floors with 5 flats and two attic floors with 3 duplex flats. In the basement, the existing ramp provides access to an underground car park with 16 parking spaces.
