The design for the sports park Rotkreuz reinforces the existing site as an open space for sports, socializing, and recreation. The existing poplar-lined avenue is being developed into a distinctive axis for the sports park, structuring the site and connecting its key areas. Along this axis, recreational areas, seating, and bicycle parking spaces are being created to support both organized sports and informal activities, as well as simply spending time in the park.

The new sports park building is located along Buonaserstrasse and serves as a central focal point within the site. The three-story structure is designed as a compact timber building whose clear layout allows for flexible uses. The uses are organized according to their relationship to the sports facilities: At the level of the sports field, there are locker rooms as well as equipment and technical rooms with direct access to the playing fields. The middle floor houses training and club rooms, while the top floor features club facilities with direct access to spacious terraces.

The building materials underline the project’s sustainable approach. A ventilated wood facade, green roofs, and photovoltaic systems define the building’s appearance and support resource-efficient operation.

The complex is complemented by a new building for the outdoor pool as well as diverse green spaces and open areas. Groups of trees, play and relaxation areas, and a clear path layout structure the park and create a variety of spaces for sports, socializing, and recreation. Climate-resilient planting and an integrated rainwater management system support a sustainable and climate-adapted approach to the landscape.
